Happy New Year!!

Amazing fireworks!!! We started our day in the IMAX theatre, the worlds largest screen, we saw Megamind in 3D. Sooo cool!
Then we went on a cruise around the harbour, free food and drinks! :-)
The harbour was packed with people so we made the right decision by booking the Lady Rose.

Bondi Beach

A nice and very sunny day @ Bondi Beach.
Blue, very cold water and perfectly white sand. A "paradise-feel" beach.
Saving energi for the New Years Cruise and fireworks show in Darling Harbour tomorrow. Can't wait!

Manly Beach

A lovely and lazy day on Manly Beach.
We enjoyed Manly... So did one million other people! It was really crowded but we found a nice spot.
We decided to stay there for dinner and had our own little picknick on the bridge overlooking the water. And got nice almost-sunset ferry trip back, passing the Opera House and the bridge.

Bridge Climb no2

Today we went back to the Sydney Harbour Bridge for our second attempt of climbing the bridge! As a bonus we got to wear the sexy suit twice in one week :)

With hardly any wind it was a much more pleasant experience the second time around. It was an amazing journey from daylight to sunset and finally night time allowing us to explore all the city lights and christmas lights from above.
Thank you River for that lovely wedding gift.
Ending the night with beer and tapas at Ship Inn (the bar where River worked) before heading home to Parramatta.

If you are wondering why Sami is wearing a scarf... Is was a cold day in Sydney today with only 19C! Hopefully tomorrow will be "the usual" 30C!

Parramatta

Life in Parramatta is quite okay. Nice hotel, although the location is nothing compared to The Rocks were we spent our first week in Sydney. But this is very affordable considering that all hotel prices in the city go up 4 or 5 times around New Years.
And the Parramatta River Cat goes along the coast to Sydney in only 50 minutes. Not forgetting that Parramatta has one of the best shopping centers we have ever seen. That tells you something!
Apparently we are living in an "Indian" area packed with Indian shops and restaurants. Today we had the best Indian food ever @ Ginger Indian Food Restaurant.

Boxing day

The streets of Sydney were packed with people. The sale has started. Some shops had a queue to get in, crazy, Drottningatan in Stockholm is nothing compared to this....

We have also been to the Australian museum to watch the wildlife photographer of the year exibition. It was great, and half way through we realized that the photos were copyrighted and we weren't allowed to take pictures... Ooops. So I cant upload any here.. Google might come after me... :-) but a couple of pictures from other parts of the museum.

And in the evening we almost made a complete bridge walk. But around 100 meters above the ground on Sydney harbour bridge the storm came in. We got completely soaked and the crew had to cancel the climb and send us back down because of electrical storms... Better safe than up on a steel bridge! So now we are rescheduled for Wednesday instead for our 2nd climb. We get great value for money!!

The day after

A fun and "wet" night in Kings Cross last night. Not many people out, but we had tons of fun anyway :)
Today has been a lazy day just hanging in the park. When we went to see an afternoon movie, it was very obvious that everybody was enjoying their holidays. Everything was closed and George Street, one of the most busy streets in Sydney, felt desserted. Although all shops looked prepared for Big newyears sale. Yeah!

Btw. The movie was great. "The Tourist" with Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie. Fun and exciting.

Christmas dinner

A wonderful xmas dinner in the harbour with the best view and most delicious dessert ever!!! Brownie with oreo ice-cream topped with chocolate mousse in a coup made of white chocolate. Accompanied by strawberries and hot dark melted chocolate...
This could easily turn into an addiction.
Merry Xmas!
